Of course my personal favorite is from my 4 year old niece. She asked what I was doing on the computer and when I said making Eric Hutchinson a big birthday card, she said she wanted to make one too. So she went to her Sesame Street coloring book and picked this one out to color and sang "Happy Birthday to Ay-ric" to whole time.

You know you've made it when a high school male acapella group is doing your song!

I have been trying to get you to New Zealand.
My plan is, when you have a concert in NZ, I am gone pretend not paying attention so you would write a song about me.

I know this isn’t the most fancy card but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday and hello! I discovered your music about a year ago and from then until now I cannot stop listening to your album. "Sounds Like This" was the soundtrack to my first trip to California, a road trip I took with my friends from New Mexico and was the perfect soundtrack to the perfect trip. I went to see you in Denver this summer and it was the first time I have been to a concert where I knew all the songs and sang all the lyrics and danced my ass off! It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life, not only because you and the band put on an INCREDIBLE performance, but because you could see, and I knew first hand, that the audience was having as much fun as you were on stage. I just wanted to say thanks for all you do and that I am looking forward to your future albums! You are truly an inspiring musician. Happy Birthday and here’s to many more!

quick question

Do people still blog or this a sad attempt at a hopeless cause?

So I had this vision of taking all your birthday cards and making them into a book to give Eric Hutchinson at one of his concerts. Of course this vision was ruined when the website I was making it on "lost my order". You all spent a lot of time making all the sweet cards, and even though it's not his birthday anymore I'm sure he would love to see them. I'll post them here and send him the link in hopes that he will see :)

We'll try the book thing again some other time.
